Happy Ash Wednesday

Good morning. Wishing you all my brother and sister in Christ a very blessed Ash Wednesday today! During this Lent season, may you reflect on your God, Religion, and your life. Jesus blesses!

Whatis Lent? Ok. I will tell you :)

Lent is a one Christian Festival. In the past it was a long, strictreligious fast when people gave up all rich food. The day before Lent starts isknown as Shrove Thursday. Then,Ash Wednesday. :D

Lentis the time when Christians prepare for the greatest of the Christian festivalsknown as Easter, by thinking ofthings they have done wrong.

TheChristian church no longer imposes a strict fast. Lent is a time when someChristians try to overcome their own faults because they believe that it wasman's sin which led Jesus to be crucified.

SomeChristians try to follow the example of Jesus in the dessert by giving up luxuries and practicingself-discipline. And they try to put aside more time to prayer and religiousacts so that they can really let God into their lives. More, many churches holdspecial Lent services. In some towns the churches of different denominationsjoin together in groups to discuss and share their Christian faith.

Lentbegins with Ash Wednesday and lasts for six and a half weeks. Lent is amoveable feast which means the date changes from year to year. I’ll explainmore at next entry. If rajin la :P

Lentends at Easter when Christians remember the execution of Jesus and thencelebrate his rising from death. The last week of Lent begins with Palm Sunday, which celebrates the dayJesus entered Jerusalem and the people lay down palms at his feet. The last dayof Lent is Holy Saturday the daybefore Easter Sunday.

Inthe our church, Roman Catholic Church, Lent officially ends at sundown on Holy Tuesday (Maundy Thursday), with the beginningof the mass of the Lord's Supper.

Apayang saya tahu, lent is a time when Christians remember the 40 daysand nights Jesus spent alone in the desert without food being tempted by theDevil. Jesus used this time to prepare forHis work by fasting and praying.

Luke'sGospel says:

'Jesus,full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit inthe desert, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothingduring those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.'

So,as in the Bible, we spend forty days in preparing themselves to rejoice at theresurrection of Jesus Christ at Easter. :)

The Christian season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday.

Thedate of Ash Wednesday varies each year according to the date of Easter. It isalways six-and-a-half weeks before Easter.. The earliest possible date of AshWednesday is 4 February and the latest possible date is 10 March.

Then,what is Ash Wednesday actually?

AshWednesday is a one of Christian festival. It marks the beginning of six and ahalf weeks of repentance, fasting and abstinence in preparation for the mostimportant Christian festival of Easter.

Ash Wednesdayderives its name from the placing of ash (mixed with either olive oil or HolyWater) onto the foreheads of the faithful. This practice adheres the sign ofmourning and repentance to God and it's interesting to note that the ashes aregathered from the burnt ashes of the palms used in the previous Palm Sunday.

It’scalled Ash Wednesday because ashes are something that are left when somethingis burned.

Ashesare a symbol of being sorry for things they have done wrong and want to get ridof forever. It is also a reminder to them that we all come from ashes and toashes we all will return.

Forus, the marking on the forehead with ash marks the commitment to Jesus Christand God. They wanted to show God that they were sorry for the wrong things theyhad done in the past year.

Usinga mark on the forehead as a sign of commitment is also used in many MiddleEastern cultures where a round, colored circle is marked on the forehead. We willattend a religious service where the ashes are blessed by the church leader,and placed on their forehead.

Webelieve this marks the physical and spiritual beginning of a personal Lentseason in which 40 days of repentance will begin leading up to the celebrationof Easter Sunday. The actual moment when the forehead is marked initiates thebeginning of lent for each individual person.

Lastly,the ashes symbolize is using ashes to mark the cross onthe believer's forehead symbolizes that through Christ's death andresurrection, all Christians can be free from sin.

Thenumber 40 is a special number in the Bible. It signifies preparation forsomething special:

The rain lasted for 40 days in the mighty flood - Noah
Moses stayed on the Mount Sinai forty days (Ex 24:18)
Jonah gave the people of Ninevah forty days to repent (Jon 3:4)
Jesus, before starting his ministry, spent forty days in the desert in prayer and fasting (Matt 4:2

Mark 1:15 And saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdomof God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Hey Month of LOVE !!

Can't believe it's February already! After a world's longest January katenye I am happy to welcome February! This monthI am going to focus on the people I love. Belagak. Haha. The the things that i love.Focus on LOVE. LOVE with Jesus. :) January is usually a hard month for me. Why? ASSIGNMENT!! Babi. Eh,babi sedap apa. Haha! sucks! I am a girl that NEEDS the social life! Iwant party and bullshit! Damn. Bosan. Apa jak kerja dipolah hidup sitok. Dah lah sik habis ngan masalah, berhadapan ngan article.Cehhhh! Makan article lah ya tek.. Gedikk.. Ko tek kacak kata kak Lehot..haha.. *tetiba* Apa lah aku mok buat cuti cny tok. Mok bercuti katanye duit sikda. Gney lah? Nyempit? Banyaklah kau! haha. Bagus balit oh. Yarabbiiii tambangpulang balit, bagus aku pergi london! haha. Mun no mak ku kena boleh gak. Yasik -___-" mimpi la ow. Ya lah tek Wawasan Berkikis Bulu Betis! haha supayakita tok pandie sekula. haha. Ya....Mun di sebut bulan 2 alu lah pikir mbiak kinek,alu BERBELENTINE DAY katenya! haha. Alu ada lah tek orang sik suka belentineday tok. madah belentine day tok hari ompuan hilang virgin la..apuu! ko sik dautak ka ging? Eee. mun kenak ko mpun baruk ko tauk sapa!! yahhh. cuak rasa konong.. Aku tok sik da masa belentine day. Cuba nangga Bola Sepak lagi syiokokay. haha. Ok lah ging. Cukup lah aku merepek. Sik berblog2 aku merepek kelak.Malas aku. haha. KBYE!

End of January ;)

Stress stressssss!! Bila diingatkan memang aku buntu. Memang dah ku jangka aku akan berhadapan dengan ni.. Apa boleh buat dah terlanjur buat.. Lantakla.. Janji ditepati. Miahaha. Fuhhh... Terlalu banyak dugaan yang harus ku tempuhi bulan ni.. Disaat segala ssuatu tampaknya sulit begini, penderitaan ini begitu berat seakan tembok tebal menghalangi ku.. Namun jawapan ku hanya satu, iaitu penuh kpd kuasa Yesus Kristus. Mencari ketenangan bersama Jesus. :) :)

One more, disaat aku ingin bahagia dengan si dia aku kenapa aku keliru dengan perasaan sendiri? :'( Aku takut pekara itu berulang..

Eh? Hahaha. January nak habis suda baru nak update :) buzy katanye.. Well. Aku pun naik rimas tengok blog ni. Aku ni bukan pandai sangat IT. Lagi pun malas nak buat cantik2 takut tak menjadi kang. Naa. Banyak lah kisah hidup andai di tulis dua minggu pun tak siap.. So di ringkaskan memang buzy. Tidur pun tak pernah awal. Lagi satu bangang tul aku dengan wifi. Mala jak sik menjadi katanyee. Nak assignment lagi.. Tak habis2 dengan articles. Hidup untuk articles. Haha. Ni kali lah. Tapi hari tu aku memang bangang sakit hati siott dengan let. tu. Terang2 aku macam kes bavani tu. sialll. Benci sangat aku masuk kelas tuu. Eerr! Dah lah siap ada ujian segala. Mengada!
Lagi kerja lagi ni roomate bising. Housemate bising. Boleh gila aku wei. Sentappp telinga aku. Tak paham aku dengan housemate aku tuh. Bising se-day2. Hahaha! Pagi bising malam bising. Tak pandai cakap slow2 ke? Ishhh. Macam tu ke nak jadi cikgu? EH?! -____- Hari tu memang aku naik panasss!!! Aku memang pantang orang pakai barang aku tak minta. Benci teramat sangat. Then buat muka donno. Ingat aku junior boleh buli ka? Enti nitih asai ati ka ku tangkup ngena baldi jak pala d nya. Eee! Sejak kau masuk dalam rumah ni, naik rimas aku tau tak??? So.lets stop here. Banyak lagi aku nak cerita ni. Haha.

Confession

Last night, I went to confession…the priest remained silent the entire time I was confessing…which I kind of like, because it allows me to recount all of my sins without distraction.. well, before that, I'm so nervous mannn. Nak balik rasa even nak rasa nangis pun ada. Rasa berdosa sangat. =.= so, aku doa banyak2 untuk jauhkan nervous :)

I honestly and whole heartily feel I made a good confession…but if that is the case, why do I feel like a huge weight is still on me? I still feel as if I am in mortal sin? Do you think it was the lack of participation/chastisement on the part of the priest? Could it be something else?

Confession means to agree with God. He already knows we’ve sinned, so we might as well be honest! “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) Confession means freely admitting our sin and accepting God’s attitude about our sin. Confession does not mean begging God for forgiveness. Christ already paid the penalty for all of our sins, and God’s forgiveness is available automatically when we confess. The reason God can make this forgiveness available to you instantly is Christ’s death on the cross, not the strength or humility with which you confess your sin.

As a Christian, all of our sins are forgiven. We probably believe that from the Bible. But how do we respond to it? A friend who counsels many believers commented: “Some Christians don’t really believe they have sinned; others don’t believe they are forgiven.”

How much does sin matter to God? He cannot tolerate it. “Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong.” (Habakkuk 1:13a) “God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5a) That may seem unimportant. Hasn’t Jesus paid for all our sins? Why be concerned about sin when God loves us and offers a wonderful plan for our life? Perhaps we should view sins as mistakes, mere miscues in life.

God never views sin as such. Because of one sin, Adam and Eve were exiled from paradise. Because of sin God brought a flood upon the earth’s inhabitants in the days of Noah. He brought fire upon the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah because of their blatant immorality. Sin kept the original children of Israel in the wilderness for forty years.

God hates sin. Yet to us, sin feels good, and we do it. Like Adam and Eve, we think we can know evil and yet not be overcome by it. But we do not become like God. God knows of the existence of evil, yet God is not evil nor does He give in to evil. We, on the other hand, are attracted to it, and we give in to it.

Whenever our sin, God’s Spirit inside us is grieved. Sometimes He’ll cause us to feel guilty. In sinning, we are choosing at that instant to live independently of the Lord’s will for us. That doesn’t cause God to hate us. He still loves us. But it saddens Him: “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom we were sealed for the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:30)

* It just opened my eyes to how God views and that He always forgives my downfalls and it is only in Him that strengthened to live above sin. Praise the Lord! Alleluia ! Puji Tuhan !
